Plastic Surgery Pyramid (PSP) expands its offering with dermatology

The leading provider of plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery, Plastic Surgery Pyramide (formerly the Centre for Plastic Surgery at the Pyramid Clinic), is expanding its spectrum to include dermatology and is bringing two luminaries from the USZ on board. A new centre of excellence for the early detection and treatment of melanoma is being created. Aesthetic medicine specialising in laser and light therapy is also being expanded. The Leo Clodius Lymphatic Center is the first private specialist centre for lymphatic system reconstruction in Switzerland.

With Prof. Reinhard Dummer and PD Dr Laurence Imhof, two renowned dermatologists are joining the Plastic Surgery Pyramid. Prof Dummer was Deputy Medical Director of the Department of Dermatology at the University Hospital Zurich (USZ) from 2007 to 2025. He has made a name for himself nationally and internationally as a specialist in malignant skin tumours and will now continue his expertise at the Plastic Surgery Pyramid, where he heads the melanoma consultation and where a centre of excellence for skin tumour surgery is being established. PD Dr Imhof was also a member of the Clinic Management of the Dermatology Clinic at the USZ from 2021 to 2024 and was also Medical Director of Laser Medicine and Aesthetic Dermatology there from 2014 to 2024. At the USZ, she promoted innovative treatments and made a significant contribution to the further development of laser medicine.

30 years of expertise and a holistic approach

The Plastic Surgery Pyramid emerged from the Pyramid Private Clinic's Centre for Plastic Surgery following its closure at the end of 2024. It was founded in 1993 by Dr Cédric A. George. As a leading provider of plastic reconstructive and aesthetic surgery, PSP has always pursued a holistic and tailored approach. The spectrum includes reconstructions following accidents or illnesses as well as purely cosmetic treatments. Today, the team of doctors at PSP comprises 8 specialists with an FMH qualification in plastic surgery or dermatology. Several hundred operations and several thousand minimally invasive treatments are carried out each year. "Plastic and reconstructive surgery, aesthetic surgery, dermatology and aesthetic medicine complement each other perfectly in a holistic approach. It's about quality of life and being able to offer our patients everything from a single source. We also see great potential in new laser technologies," says Dr George, explaining the expansion of his centre.

First private lymph centre in Switzerland in honour of a great pioneer

With the appointment of Prof. Mario Scaglioni as a new partner last year, PSP has already gained reinforcement in the field of supermicrosurgery and founded the Leo Clodius Lymphatic Center, the first private lymphatic centre in Switzerland. It specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of lymphatic disorders, which often arise in connection with cancer therapies and require sophisticated, super-microsurgical reconstruction of the lymphatic system. The naming of the centre after the famous surgeon at the USZ was a deliberate choice, according to Prof. Scaglioni: "Leo Clodius was an important Swiss plastic surgeon and pioneer who made a significant contribution to establishing plastic surgery as an independent speciality in Switzerland. His legacy lives on today through his students and the standards he developed."
