Anaesthesia

An upcoming operation often arouses fears and can cause uncertainty and doubt. We take your feelings seriously and therefore also attach great importance to understandable and empathetic care from our experts. Many patients have an understandable but, from a professional point of view, unfounded fear of anaesthesia. It is very important to us that you come to the operation well informed and with a feeling of security.

The Plastic Surgery Pyramid attaches particular importance to optimal patient care by the anaesthesia team. Our experienced anaesthetists prepare patients for the upcoming operation with plenty of time and empathy. This begins with information on anaesthesia, which also includes rules of conduct before the anaesthetic, an anaesthetic questionnaire to be completed and continues with anaesthetic management during the procedure, through to care in the recovery room and pain therapy after the operation. Post-operative care by our anaesthetists is always guaranteed, even for outpatient procedures.

High security

Today, anaesthesia has reached such a high level of safety that major and lengthy operations can be performed even on seriously ill patients at risk. Surgery and the necessary anaesthesia are a temporary stress for the body. However, they are important for your long-term health, as they help to correct an existing health problem and improve your quality of life.

Preliminary discussion and clarification

To ensure that you are well informed and feel confident about your operation, an anaesthesia questionnaire will be sent to you before the planned procedure together with the information on admission to the clinic, and you will be given the opportunity for a telephone or personal anaesthesia consultation. During the preliminary consultation with the responsible anaesthetist, the most suitable procedure for you will be discussed and any questions you may still have will be clarified. Our anaesthetists will contact you before your procedure as soon as we have received your completed anaesthesia questionnaire.

Anaesthesia questionnaire

The anaesthesia questionnaire provides our anaesthesia team with important medical information such as previous illnesses, allergies, medication to be taken, previous operations and details of any previous examinations by the responsible GP or specialist. The better our anaesthesia team knows the individual requirements, the better they can be taken into account in the interests of safety.

Send the anaesthesia questionnaire to anaex@pyramide.ch or to the practice as soon as possible. Ideally, this should be the case one week before the planned operation. If the decision to operate is made at short notice, please send us the anaesthesia questionnaire the same day through the practice or directly to anaex@pyramide.ch.

Anaesthesia consultation

During the anaesthesia consultation, our anaesthetist will deal specifically with your individual questions and can thus get a comprehensive picture of your state of health. Some of your questions may already be answered with the summary of frequently asked questions.

On the anaesthesia questionnaire, you can tick the box above the signature field to indicate whether you expressly wish to have an on-site consultation instead of a telephone consultation. We will contact you to arrange the appropriate appointment.
