Types of wrinkles on the face

Wrinkle smoothing with botulinum toxin A

One way of smoothing wrinkles caused by facial expressions is treatment with botulinum toxin type A. This is a prescription medication. It inhibits the transmission of impulses between the nerve endings and the muscle so that the muscle can no longer contract to its original extent and form wrinkles. The treatment is therefore suitable for wrinkles caused by excessive muscle activity. It has been used in medicine for many years to treat neurological disorders (e.g. spasms) and has also been used for aesthetic purposes since 2003.

Wrinkle injection with hyaluronic acid

Fillers are substances that are injected into wrinkles to compensate for age-related loss of volume or contour. A distinction is made between permanent and non-permanent fillers. Permanent fillers cannot be broken down by the body. They are rarely used today. Non-permanent fillers, which most commonly contain hyaluronic acid that is completely broken down by the body after a period of time, have become widely established due to their excellent effectiveness and tolerability and are used for wrinkle injections. At Aesthetic Medicine Pyramide, we only use completely biodegradable hyaluronic acid-based fillers.

Facial rejuvenation with laser

Laser treatment can effectively combat the signs of skin ageing. With increasing age, the skin changes and wrinkles, age spots, age warts, enlarged veins and enlarged pores can develop. Scars from injuries or acne can also be perceived as annoying. The modern CO₂ laser offers a precise solution for treating these skin problems. In addition to the CO₂ laser, we have a range of other lasers and technical devices at our disposal to treat the variety of skin changes optimally and individually.

The result: a fresher, more youthful appearance and a natural radiance.

Biostimulators

Biostimulants are injectable substances that stimulate the body's own collagen and elastin production to improve skin structure and compensate for volume loss. They not only act as fillers, but also stimulate the skin to regenerate in the long term, thereby tightening and rejuvenating the tissue.

Radiesse®

Radiesse is a biostimulator based on calcium hydroxyapatite. In addition to an immediate plumping effect, it stimulates collagen formation and ensures long-term skin tightening. It is particularly suitable for the chin and jawline, cheeks, hands and for general skin rejuvenation.

Sculptra®

Sculptra consists of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) and stimulates collagen synthesis over several months. It is mainly used to treat volume loss in the face, sunken cheeks or for general skin improvement. The result develops gradually over several weeks and often lasts for two years or longer.

Both biostimulators are particularly suitable for patients who want a natural rejuvenation effect without artificial volume.

Visia skin analysis

Accurately analysing the skin is crucial in order to take the right measures. The VISIA® Gen7 camera enables a detailed examination of the skin structure through high-resolution images from different angles. Eight skin characteristics are analysed, including spots, wrinkles, pores, UV damage and bacterial secretions that may be associated with acne. Based on the results, a personalised treatment plan is drawn up, which may include various therapeutic approaches such as laser treatments, microneedling or autologous blood treatment. In addition, the VISIA® analysis determines the true skin age by comparing the skin's appearance with a worldwide database.

The examination takes about 15 minutes and is followed by a detailed consultation. After around four to six months, a new analysis is carried out to check the effectiveness of the treatment and ensure long-term improvement in the skin.
