WHY MICRONEEDLING?
Microneedling with the Dermapen 4 is a very effective, minimally invasive treatment to improve skin quality, rejuvenate skin, reduce pigmentation marks and improve the appearance of scars and stretch marks. The treatment can be used for the whole face as well as on the body.
In microneedling, tiny, rapid needle pricks (0.5–2.5mm deep, 1,300 per second) create small wounds in the skin. At the same time, highly concentrated active ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, antioxidants or vitamin serums are incorporated into the skin. In the natural healing phase after the treatment, collagen production is stimulated and the skin regains its tone and elasticity.
Depending on your complexion, we recommend combining microneedling with a mild to strong peel or with a topical Botulinum toxin A treatment.
HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE RECOMMENDED?
For optimal results, 4–6 sessions at intervals of about 4–6 weeks are recommended. Refresher treatments twice a year are useful to maintain the effect and slow down the natural skin ageing process.
For the best results, we recommend pre- and post-treatment with Dermapen’s dermaceuticals. The products can be purchased at our Face Atelier. The highly effective contents of these dermaceuticals are specially tailored to the microneedling treatment. At least one week before the treatment, the skin should be pre-treated with the recommended products, so that the skin regenerates in the best possible way.
One hour before the treatment, any make-up on the face and eyes should be completely removed. Immediately before the treatment, photos are taken with the VISIA Gen7 to document the treatment results. The treatment lasts about 40–60 minutes. At the end of the treatment, a soothing and calming face mask is applied.
After the treatment, the skin will be red and slightly swollen for about 2–5 days, but this can be easily covered with the special Cover Recover.
BB Glow is a special type of microneedling treatment that incorporates natural mineral colour pigments into the top layer of the skin using a microneedling device. The effect is immediately visible and there is no need for time off from your normal activities. The BB Glow treatment is only performed on the face.
HOW DOES BB GLOW WORK?
Using a technique known as nano needling, the colour pigments and active ingredients are gently massaged into the epidermis to a depth of 0.1–0.5mm, creating the glow effect and giving an even, radiant complexion. Redness, pigment spots (age spots, freckles) and slight irregularities in skin tone can also be evened out. Your skin will look radiantly beautiful after the treatment – without make-up.

After one treatment, the effect will last for several weeks. With 3–4 treatments at 2-week intervals, the effect will last for several months.
