IS THERE A RISK OF CONTRACTING CORONAVIRUS AT THE PYRAMID CLINIC?

We do not have a Covid department or a Covid-19 test centre. On the recommendation of the Canton of Zurich, the “3G” rule – Tested, Recovered, Vaccinated – has been in effect since 13 September 2021. All visitors, external partners and suppliers who come into the clinic must be able to show a valid COVID certificate, or an antigen test (validity: 24 hrs) or a PCR test (validity: 72 hrs). Our staff members follow all necessary safety measures and comply with the requirements of the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) and the Zurich Health Department. Face masks must be worn in the clinic. Visits during your stay at the clinic are allowed, but are limited to a certain number of people and visits per day. This can significantly reduce the risk of infection.

DO I HAVE TO WEAR A FACE MASK AT THE PYRAMID CLINIC?

You must wear a face mask at the Pyramid Clinic. You will be given a mask at reception. Or even better: Wear a face mask on your journey to the clinic. Mandatory mask-wearing applies in all areas of the Pyramid Clinic and the Haus zur Pyramide, except in the patient’s rooms, when patients are alone. Face masks are also mandatory during physiotherapy, consultations and for all our employees.

Hygiene stations are located at the entrances. Please sanitise your hands and then register with us at reception.

WILL MY SCHEDULED SURGERY, CONSULTATION OR FOLLOW-UP TAKE PLACE?

Yes, these will take place at our premises as agreed.

However, only come to your appointment at the clinic or practice if you feel well. If in doubt, contact the clinic or your doctor beforehand. If you have symptoms of Covid-19 (for example, cough, fever, loss of taste/smell) or a positive test result, the scheduled procedure cannot take place and must be postponed in consultation with your doctor. Please contact the specialist treating you or the clinic by phone to discuss the next steps.

Please arrive for the appointment without accompanying persons if possible. All hospitals have restricted access for visitors and accompanying persons and mandatory masking.

WILL MY OUTPATIENT PHYSIOTHERAPY APPOINTMENT STILL TAKE PLACE?

Yes, your appointment will take place as agreed. Face masks must be worn during the treatment.

I AM IN PAIN, BUT WOULD LIKE TO AVOID VISITING A HOSPITAL IN THE CURRENT SITUATION.

It is important to consult a doctor if you are experiencing pain. Do not delay treatment due to the current coronavirus situation. People who are chronically ill are particularly at risk because their health can deteriorate further due to a lack of medical care, and complications can arise if surgery is performed too late. Discuss any doubts with the specialist treating you and carefully weigh up the risks/pros and cons.

SHOULD YOU POSTPONE A PLANNED OPERATION BECAUSE OF THE CURRENT CORONAVIRUS SITUATION?

No. There is no increased risk from the procedure. Do not postpone treatments that limit your health or quality of life because of coronavirus, provided you do not have any symptoms suggestive of Covid-19.

IN SPRING, PLANNED OPERATIONS HAD TO BE POSTPONED. WHAT IS THE CURRENT STATUS?

There are currently no restrictions. All procedures can be performed regardless of their urgency.

WILL A TEST FOR COVID-19 BE CARRIED OUT BEFORE MY SURGERY? OR DO I NEED TO PROVIDE A NEGATIVE TEST RESULT?

The “3G” rule – Tested, Recovered, Vaccinated – has been in effect at the Pyramid Clinic since 13 September 2021. All persons who come into the clinic must show that they have a valid COVID certificate, or an antigen test (validity: 24 hrs) or a PCR test (validity: 72 hrs). Prior to any upcoming surgery, our Guest Relations team will contact you to find out your current health status. Patients who do not present a certificate will be tested on site at the latest.

CAN MY RELATIVES AND FRIENDS VISIT ME AT THE CLINIC AFTER AN OPERATION?

Visits are allowed, but are limited:

  • Patients may be visited by a maximum of two people per day for a maximum of one hour. Masks are mandatory.

Exceptions may be made for children, patients in need of care or with dementia, and when an interpreter is needed. Our Guest Relations team will explain the process to you as part of a pre-admission phonecall. All visitors must sign in and out at reception, present a valid COVID certificate, or an antigen test (validity: 24 hrs) or a PCR test (validity: 72 hrs) and provide their contact details.

DOES THE PYRAMID CLINIC ALSO TREAT PATIENTS WITH COVID-19?

We do not have a Covid department and do not treat patients with Covid-19.

CAN I TAKE A COVID TEST AT THE PYRAMID CLINIC?

No, the Pyramid Clinic does not currently offer testing for Covid-19.

SUSPECTED CORONAVIRUS?

If you think that you may have Covid-19, please contact your family doctor first by phone or the Covid hotline for the Canton of Zurich on 0800 044 117. If you are due to have surgery, please let the specialist treating you know that you may have Covid-19.

If you have symptoms of Covid-19, you must not come to the clinic. This also applies to other diseases, not just suspected coronavirus.
